School Programmes

Since 1982, Gianetta has presented musical programs for classes of all ages and interests. With her intimate understanding of children (she is a mother of 4 and now a very happy grandmother), she draws and holds the attention of her audience to introduce music and harp history, repertoire and techniques while also encouraging student involvement. Her presentation is always tailored to the audience at hand, especially taking into consideration any repertoire and composers currently being studied by the group. As an example, Sticks, Strings and Mythical Things is a programme for children aged 4-12 for harp and percussion (also played by the harpist) based on the piece The Crown of Ariadne. Gianetta performs the music and recounts the story of Theseus, Ariadne and the Minotaur, while introducing aspects of language both musical and verbal and the value of story.
